life in south mitrovica
Video visto 4 veces Descripción: Caption:In southern Mitrovica people have an average income of 37 euros per month. That's two thirds less than that in the North. But families often receive money from relatives abroad.37% comes from the Government in Pristina. 42% comes from the private sector. In the villages around Mitrovica families have to grow much of their own food to survive...Caption:Kicic -- Near MitrovicaTefik UkaTaxi Driver(Interviewed in Veliki KiÄić/Kiçiq i Madh Village, in Serbian.)At the same time as the NATO bombing started, Serbs started shelling from Pasoma village. Everybody from VuÄitrn municipality and from Mitrovica fled to KiÄić. 30,000 people came to KiÄić. There were 115 people in my house for seven weeks -- 9 tractors, 6 cars. They were sleeping on tractors, in cars. We barely survived till the end of the war.More than 80% of people worked in TrepÄa. This house that is like a garage, he made it for work, his name is Ragib Uka. He worked as a miner in TrepÄa. He is in Germany now. The house next to his: Tahir Uka, worked in TrepÄa, in Germany now. If TrepÄa starts working again, it will be better. People will come back from abroad. If it doesn't work, or if there aren't any other jobs, people will leave it all and go elsewhere, where they can eat. We thought it would be better, that people would have jobs, to earn money for living. Everything is wrong now. There are no jobs, people only have some cash sent from abroad. There is no point in working. Do whatever you want, produce anything -- there is no market. It is very difficult. Etiquetas: collapse, mitrovica, multiethnic, southmitrovica, trepca
